Subject: [Leica] M2 Rangefinder Replacement

I have see references to replacing the rangefinder on M2 camerasİ I have 
been told this part is no longer availableİ Can it be repkaced and how 
would you know it needed replacing? Want to know before I begin to look 
for oneİ TIA
