This is not to say that we just do without - Was in NYC on my B'day two weeks ago and had a lovely time with Rich Pinto - kids and wife sat on the floor and just had at it. Don't worry I spent a good 90 min. on the floor of a SOHO jewlery store ( will have film soon on the web to proove it). Ended up getting the new CV 50/2.5 lens because I just had to have it and it didn't make any difference whether I bought it there or had it shipped. Was bummed as I went to the Leica Gallery and it was closed. Went across the hall to Kurland's but he wasn't there and the salesperson nice as he was , was a place holder. Hugh space with not much inventory. I didn't go to B and H as I can't stomach their attitude tho' I do use them mailorder - I buy from them when I don't have to actually talk to a human. Also visited SoHo Triad gallery which had some very nice BW photos - definitely recommend. They had a print of the raising of the flag on Mt. Suribachi (sp?) for $10K - wasn't aware that prints of this shot were for sale. Jacques Lowe stuff was there on JFK. ernie - -----Original Message----- From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us]On Behalf Of Steve LeHuray Sent: Wednesday, August 28, 2002 10:50 AM To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Subject: Re: [Leica] Re: Leica in New York Bill Satterfield writes: > Frank, the urge is like some other urge, you want it right then, not later. Not to rain on your parade Bill, but anything major you buy in NYC, you should have shipped to your out-of-state home to avoid the NYC/NY state tax. sl - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
