Subject: [Leica] FS: VERY EARLY M3 with Collapsible Summicron 50.

Probably TOO nice to consider as a user camera, but I'd rather offer it
HERE first before it goes to the wolves of the AUCTION SITE.

Leica M3, serial number 738,572, which puts it in the first batch of
1955. Condition EX/EX+. Has the markings expected for a very early
production example: slot mark in rewind crank, original DS, no preview
lever, etc. Camera is extremely clean, with only SLIGHT marks on top
plate from a meter. Vulcanite gorgeous. Original "L" seal intact.
Camera fires properly, sounds great at various speeds. Original leather
case in excellent condition. Summicron 50 in beautiful shape (best I've
ever seen), with Summicron front cap. Only some slight marks visible
when held up to light. Includes original red felt box. From general
appearances, I doubt this was used more than a few times.

This came from the original owner in the Reading, PA area. The camera
was given to the Berks County Historical Society for fundraising--but it
was too pristine (and specialized) to include in their general auction
this October. Thus I'm offering it, on the Historical Society's behalf,
to Leica specialists. Price is $2000 for camera, lens, cap, case, and
box--plus shipping.

If interested, contact me offline at garcia@chesco.com

Much thanks,
Jim Shulman
