Needs some background or a hand moving to touch or something to make it more than a single record: I should know, 99.99% of my shots receive the same self flaggelation > > I returned my daughter to college in Gettysburg, and there just >happened to be a living history demonstration of artillery. >Naturally I couldn't resist, you don't get >to see a full battery firing on the original battlefield too often. > >http://www.photoneal.com/photos/paw/tn/battery.jpg.html Wonderful opportunity, and great timing, I'd love to have seen a tight crop on the 3 or maybe 5 on the right, with the billowing smoke: I presume you could not get closer, and if M's have a downside, its the lack of "reach". I would still like to lose the horrible foreground dying grass and weeds and the pure white featureless sky. > >I passed this field a couple of days ago and revisited it today. >Although the flowers were a bit stunted by the drought the blooms >were beautiful and numerous. > >http://www.photoneal.com/photos/paw/tn/sunflower.jpg.html colourful. Flower photography is something I love to do. They are the only models who will allow me to cut off their heads like Kyle's ;-) I often will take up to 6 or 8 takes on a flower, and usually -- not always, one seems so much better than the others. There is an art to making a "still" life live, and I'm off to the darkroom to try to make some myself today. I will be brave, and try to post them, so that you can all have your revenge ;-) Thanks for sharing - -- Alastair Firkin http://www.afirkin.com http://www.familyofman2.com ()" "'() ( '0',) (,,)(")(") - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
