The manuals say do not use any other lamp than the Philips 13139. My lamp dealer says that the Osram equivalent is the same because there are international standards for these lamps and both Philips and Osram build to the same specification. Size wise and and electrically. Is he right, and is it just that Leica wants to sell lamps at inflated prices? Osram lamps are easy to get and cost just under 20 Euro incl 16% German tax. Philips lamps are very, very difficult to get, and cost about the same. Philips lamps from Leica dealers are easy to get, but (you guessed it) are about twice the 'regular' price.
