1985 you say...17 years...I would get it CLAed myself. If you are in a 
major center at least have a Leica tech listen to it. They can tell you 
if it needs a CLA or not. Lubricants dry out and wander off over time. 
The camera will still function but it is wearing out much quicker than 
it should. Just because it works does not mean it is happy.
