It's good to hear that it doesn't make a difference, since, as you point out, the alkalines are usually easier to come by. Probably the easiest battery to get, from Sav-on to B&H. I asked him about the discharge rate and its effect on the reading. He's comment was it didn't have an appreciable effect, or one that we would notice. I'm sure he can calibrate any meter to any power source, given his skill level.
