Firstly because it is only in the last month or so that I have had a scanner capable of scanning trannies, and secondly because of my inexperience with scanning and in particular, photoshop. Getting acceptably sharp scans of 35mm slides has been very difficult, but I feel that I am making progress. It isn't your monitor - M Pons was stood under a bright red parasol in the midday sun, hence the color cast (which I hadn't taken much notice of until it was pointed out to me). Point taken about the chap in the background. As far as DOF was concerned, it was VERY bright that day and working with an EI100 film didn't give me much option - I guess the smallest aperture that I could have used would have been f5.6 at 1/1000 - with a 35mm lens, this would have still given me quite a bit of DOF. The hints and tips that this image have generated have been invaluable and I will be giving them all a go.
