About the same price as the 90/2.8 (maybe quite a bit cheaper depending on which version of the 90 you get.) and still a great lens if you can deal with one stop less light. It falls in between the 90 and the 135 for good portraits. The 100/4 beats the 90/2.8 + Elpro for close-up work both in quality and in convenience. I have used an Elpro on the 100 to get even closer. Of course, there are those who will say get the 100/2.8 APO. I would if I could afford it.
