Edward and/or Doug,

The remark is often made that the lens is sharper in the center than
elsewhere, because of curvature of field.  If you place and focus your
subject in the periphery and leave it there, will the subject then be sharp
as if the subject and focus were placed in the center?

for all the wildlife photographer wanna-be's, the lens is great but it still
takes a good knowledge of the subject to get good pictures, as Ed knows.
