I would like to invite you to view my latest .pdf photo essay which I posted today in order kick the new year off. The title is a "Tayu, A Courtesan Visits Los Angeles". Some of you have visited and see individual photos from this series on my site, but I have finally packaged it into a single document of 19 pages, 14 images around 1.10 meg. To download the pdf directly, this link should do the trick..... http://www.jagatlin.com/PDF%20Files/tayu.pdf If you would rather download it from the site, you will find a link on the front page at www.jagatlin.com Some have asked, "What is a Tayu?" To offer the briefest explanation possible, a Tayu is the highest ranking courtesan of the fabled licensed pleasure quarters of old Japan, like Yoshiwara of Edo (Tokyo) and other cities. A prostitute? Well... yes, and no... yes in the literal sense of the term, but not in the context or sense that we think of the term today. Hope this helps. Please enjoy, and thanks for looking.
