The under-shadow looks just like a ledge and I'm sure that's what's tripping people up. When I was the editor of my high school yearbook one of our staff photographers regularly printed his negs backwards. It drove me nuts! You think he would have noticed when he pulled the print of the football team out of the fix...but NO. Not even a team full of backward jersey numbers made this guy take notice! In all fairness, he may have been dyslexic and just not told us. I've always paid attention to backwards (appearing) pictures since then.
