As far as the G3 is concerned, it is a sweet digital point and shoot. The pictures are very crisp and clear. The lens does show some chromatic aberrations with backlit subjects, wide open. But stopped down even 1 stop eliminates this. The focus is not always lightning quick, but is very accurate and has a flexible zone system that allows you to position where it is focused. All in all, with the manual capabilities and external flash support, it is a very nice digital camera.
