BUT - If someone is really looking for speed, I would still suggest the 35 1.4. Sure you can always reduce your shutter speed by a stop - but not everyone can successfully handhold and speeds below about a 60th - and certainly not below a 30th, and if the meter is telling you that that once in a life-time shot needs to be taken at f 2 at an 1/4, or an 1/8, or a 1/15th - having the 35 1.4 doubles your shutter speed at each of those readings, and gives you a better chance of getting a sharp image. But, yes, the 28 is a really terrific performer all the way around. B. Amazing lens - you will never regret buying one. > I have to agree about the 35/1.4ASPH, I do not have one, but do have the 35/1.4 pre-ASPH and am one of the few people in the world that likes this lens. Another lens with a very high ranking is the 28/2.0ASPH which might make a bit more sense than the 35/1.4 because it costs less, is just as fast because you can easily shoot at a slower shutter speed and weighs less, more compact. sl - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
