The lens appeared to be a 35 Summilux ASPH based on size and square hood as well as the working distance that the photographer kept. I suspect it was Eric Draper. This is a WAG from this photo, http://www.whitehouse.gov/stateoftheunion/preparation/02.html which appears to be a Noctilux image based on the vignetting and the very small DOF.
