There is a short article about the end of the M6 series and the 999 Special Edition. The last sentence of the article reads (more or less) as follows: This departure (to modern goals) is not only for the M7 but also for other products: with regard to lenses for the M-line a few things are said to be in preparation. Here is the original text as some of you may want to weigh every word on a gold scale and perhaps somebody can do a better translation for the rest of us: Dieser Aufbruch zu neuen Zielen im Leica M System soll aber nicht nur in der M7 bestehen, sondern sich in weiteren neuen Produkten niederschlagen: Bei den Objektiven zur M-Serie sei einiges in Vorbereitung. For those of you who do not know this; FAZ is among the most serious and factual of the German newspapers.
