The passport (and any extended warrantee as far as I know) are just fancy insurance policies and are not transferable. These are usually offered though, or backed by, a third party insurer who likes to keep it as narrowly and as favorably defined as possible without looking too silly. The Leica Passport is borderline too silly as it does not offer fire or theft protection. So yes and no. The international warrantee will be in effect regardless of who owns it but the fancy "just return the serial number" insurance policy is only valid with original owner. I also realize this situation may not please you Austin.
