Done, John: http://www.darkroom.com/Images/LeicaPassportWarranty.jpg Note carefully #2, what they call "Limited Warranty" does not apply to camera gear, so just ignore any reference to that. I love the wording in #8 "other than the SKILLED technician's of Leica Camera Inc....". It's probably true, but certainly a bit of "propaganda". I recently bought a Toshiba 7220 Portege, and it had an extended special warranty (similar to the Passport) that still had two years left on it. I called Toshiba and asked, and they said all they need to honor it was a fax with the bottom of the computer having all the info on it (serial number, warranty sticker etc.), and they would put it in my name. No fuss NO muss. I really don't understand thinking any other way. Some companies charge a small fee, like $10 or $25 to transfer a warranty, simply to recover the cost of doing paperwork. Automobile warranties transfer with no problem at all. Regards, Austin - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
