Why not use Leica USA's toll-free number and find out the "truth" of the
warranty questions? If you don't have it, I'll gladly provide it for you
right here:

I'm sure they'll be happy to clear up any confusion that any Leica owner may
have about his or her warranties, whatever their origin.
