No, a firkin is a nine gallon CASK of beer. A keg is
technically something else again. And the oft-misused
term "barrel" refers to a 36 gallon cask of beer - all
Imperial measures, of course. Always beer, of course!
(We might not have States' Rights, but we still have
some Imperial measures). ;)
