Subject: [Leica] PAW--Time Out from War Talk

This picture has nothing to do with the day's protests or the current
threats of conflagrations.

Taken yesterday at a recording session of French songs of the 18-20th
centuries, by my dear friend John Henry Funk. John's been actively
involved in opera and recitals for more than sixty years, and has
memories stretching as far back to a meeting with Nellie Melba (!)

At age 84, he's now singing for personal satisfaction. We organized
this recording session to fit with his health regimen--unfortunately his
energy is sapped at regular intervals--but thing went well indeed. I
shot this photo of violinist Christopher Collins Lee congratulating an
exhausted, but thoroughly delighted John Henry.

Film was Fuji 1600, which accounts for the pronounced grain.

Best,
