I think that my 8-year old daughter Monica is the cutest little girl around, and she knows that I think that and how to get the best out of the situation when she wants something from Daddy... In any event, family is a big part of my life, so of course they show up in my PAWs occasionally. Even though she is only in 3rd grade, it is pretty clear that Monica's talents and inclinations are more towards arts and humanities and not science. When she is not reading or hanging around her older brother, she is usually working on some little project, providing me with plenty of photo opportunities--as long as I do not use flash! So this week's three pictures are all taken with a fast lens (the 35mm Summilux) on a fast film (Fuji Neopan 1600). My wife made apple pie, and Monica appropriated some of the dough to make a sculpture of an undetermined animal. The first picture is a close-up of her working on it, the second is more of an aerial view, not the usual recommended viewpoint when photographing children, but one that I feel works in this case: http://www.wajsman.com/2003_7.jpg http://www.wajsman.com/2003_7alt1.jpg In the second alternate she is painting a storage shelf that my wife bought for her at a flea market: http://www.wajsman.com/2003_7alt2.jpg The complete PAW index is at: http://www.wajsman.com/indexpaw2003.htm and comments and critique are always welcome and appreciated.
