In 1822 he produced a permanent image on a pewter plate, and in 1829 substituted silver for pewter, and developed a partnership with Daguerre who carried on his work. This, as most 'inventions' is a progression of developments by a myriad of dedicated people, and it becomes extremely dicey to name one person as _the_ inventor. - -- * Henning J.
