Jerry,

The M6/7 really don't use LSI chips.  They are probably very basic, the M6
is probably all analog, and the M7 has very little and very simple digital.
There are FPGAs (Field Programmable Gate Arrays, see www.xilinx.com), which
can duplicate any digital circuit you can imagine...even up to 6+ million
gates, and easily one used for any normal camera like the ones we are
talking about.
