They'd be a hot debate. And invariably just as it was getting good and rolling somebody would get on and say their bit and then say something to the tune of "this whole topic has been talked to death why don't we put it to rest?". Notice he does that only AFTER he says his bit first. So supposedly the topic is closed and you're a blabbermouth in effect having the temerity to say your opinion on it at this point. It was interesting how often this happened. Finally some of us said. "Hey you guys! It's over when it's over!" The topic ends when it simply isn't being discussed anymore. You can't shut people up! A week later somebody will see it in their litle email program list and just HAVE to say something on it. And then certain amount of people will have to respond. But Brian of course can end a topic. But generally these things just work their course naturally. Certain topics are like Comets. They come back every so many months, years or centuries. You can't controll it you gotta just sit back and watch.
