And I had and loved a Kaypro. Note that I said I didn't act on my weird impulse... :-) - -----Original Message----- From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us] On Behalf Of SonC (Sonny Carter) Sent: Monday, February 24, 2003 11:58 AM To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Subject: Re: [Leica] Leica MP --now typewriters Yeah BD, I remember getting to the bottom page of a manuscript that was due, and holding my breath so I would not hit a typo. Trashcans full of wadded up paper, the nice tint that carbon paper leaves on yer fingers . . . The fun of changing a ribbon . . . Ah yes, those were the days. I remember the first day I sat down to edit someone else's work on a Kaypro. I found I could backspace and fix the spelling, or change a phrase; after five minutes on it, I stopped work, went out and bought one for myself. Several months later, I went to work as a producer in the ABC affiliate in New Orleans, and they still had Selectrics. I felt like I had been sentenced to hard labor.
