Try and find f45, f64, f90 on any 35mm camera. Won't. Why? Don't need those small stops. However I
sure need them on 4x5, 8x10 and larger.

The Digilux has a 7mm to 21mm zoom lens capable of setting f2 thru f8 in 1/2 stop increments in
aperture priority mode. Probaly much like many other prosumer digitals which have aperture
priority available. At 15mm, f8 will give you approximately 1'11" to infinity when focused at 5'
according to one calculator. Can't find a calculator which will allow entry of 7mm. Bottom line:
the prosumer stuff digital or film is what it is at any given price point. 

My partner's $300 Nikon P&S 35mm doesn't even let me begin to contemplate choosing an aperture.
