Did you read the Scientific technologies nice article about nano scale mechanical memories were bits are actually put in place by a small sharp tip on a cantilever(part of a grid array)? It,s very nice and gives an overview of state of the art. With all this around the corner why not spend your r and d on lens technology? I mean if their aim is still the best possible resolution and lens speed why sacrifice some in favour of speed of processing? They would never be able to catch up with Nikon or Canon.
