Oh, I totally agree ... that is, may the best product win! Absolutely! But
concerning the discussion of "why one is more expensive than the other,"
that's what the discussion is about. Maybe it's all rhetorical, but at the
same time, maybe not!

Having owned, used and repaired TA's RW and 1960's Leicavit I will say the
only relationship is that they both replace the standard Leica M baseplate
and both designs advance the film; however, only one works reliably and can
be user repaired if necessary.  Am I looking forward to an overpriced
untried replacement....no way. Maybe Leica can place a Red Dot on the new
edition and write the logo in script...that should improve something.

I do not care who drives what or who looked at a previous product to make
their version(it might be interesting to see what Leica may have learned
from Tom's design), when using the product I want it to work and when buying
it I want to pay less.
