Ernie,

The thing that is not clear from the SF20 manual is that in TTL mode, 
you don't have to set *anything* on the flash at all. It picks up all 
the information it needs from the camera. The aperture setting on the 
flash is for information only, just so you will know what distance 
ranges are possible at what apertures but you don't usually need to 
consult it at all.

So, I'm not sure that you *are* doing anything wrong...
