Eric is 13 and was visiting a friend just out of town. He and Ragan are close friends, and have known each other as long as they can remember. They were supposed to be easing along in the pasture on a four-wheeler (hunting/recreational vehicle,) instead, they had gotten onto the country road, and lost control in the gravel and were thrown off at a pretty good speed. The woman and her husband happened upon them and called 911, then Ragan's parents, then us. She gave me directions, and we jumped into the car and rushed out Fish Hatchery Road. I could see the two ambulances as we rounded the bend, along with two deputies' cars, and several other vehicles. I really got nervous at that, but when we got there, I could tell that while they were pretty skinned up, they were not in deep trauma. They were taken to the ER, CT Scanned, x-rayed, and examined (It just so happened that the boys' Physician was at the hospital making rounds, so they got personal care by "Dr. Jim.") The good news is that neither sustained serious injury, but both will be mighty sore. Eric didn't have my permission to go on a four-wheeler, but then it never had been an issue before. If you have a kid, show them these pictures. These boys were lucky, though they would have been luckier if they had not ridden at all. http://sonc.com/four_wheel.htm Regards, SonC (Sonny Carter) http://www.sonc.com - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
