Start with the focus racked in as close as possible. Then when you focus out, it "snaps" into place. Put your focus point on a vertical line and it will help (the line of shirt lapel, etc.) Just adjust the composition after you've focused. If you have plenty of light, you can stop down and depend on the depth of field to have everything in focus. If you are using a Noctilux - practice, practice!
