Yes I understand that some people like it a lot too. When I rented the M6, I thought the bottom loading is pretty neat and didn't have any trouble. Tonight I was finishing the first roll (Provia 100F 36 exp) on the brand new M7, shot 37 went past. Cool. 38, OK. 39. Hm... 40? The rewind crank rotated when I winded the lever and there was some tension. 41? Uh Oh, something must be wrong. In my panic, I didn't think about trying to rewind. Opened the bottom plate and SH*T - there were film out on the spool! Replaced bottom plate. Rewind - it certainly did not feel like I have to wind the whole length's worth... So - is it possible that my M7 has a problem and that the take up spool does not pull in a full frame's worth? (e.g. for argument sake, each winding on the lever only pulls in half of the frame or whatever) Or is it possible that the M7 just giving me lots of extra frames? If latter, what is the chance that there are some salvageable pictures on the roll? Should I go ahead and develop it? I then load in one of the those 12+3 roll as a test, and I got 18 "shots" on the counter.
