I am in the habit of always taking a meter reading without the filter 
and then making the correction manually, so to speak. Although I have 
noticed that with the Red 25 or 29 filter the reading through the filter 
more or less corresponds to that manual correction. However, in my case 
the filters I use most often are IR filters (Heliopan 665, 695 or 715) 
and with those, the meter is not reliable.
