Having owned and used a 180 Tele-Elmarit for years, I can testify, it is a very sharp lens. However, it is very heavy, slow to use (pre-set diaphragm), the focusing collar comes loose and there is no really good way to permanently fix it. Unless, you can buy the lens for peanuts, I would suggest you look for any of the later 180s. The 180 Tele-Elmarit-V is as stated earlier a collector's piece. Except they don't realize it yet. The lens was made by Schneider for Leica, and there are only either 250 or 275 units. It took me over ten years to find a home for mine. I gave to theh Leica Museum in Solms for a used R8. Best deal I ever made! Happy Snaps, Sal Sal DiMarco, Jr. Philadelphia, PA Web Site: http://members.fcc.net/sal.dimarcojr - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
