I just visited NYC last weekend and passed through Minneapolis/Saint
Paul (MSP), JFK, and La Guardia (LGA). At all the checkpoints, I
asked for hand-check of my film. They asked me the speed and I said
"100 and 400, but they've already been through 3-4 times" (which was
a bit of a white lie). They accepted that and hand-checked. They
opened up the little plastic cases, swabbed them, and passed them
through the portable mass-spectographer. Since I hadn't smeared them
with plastic explosives, all was good.

Note that on the TSA web page, it says that they recommend that even
low-speed film be hand-checked if it's been scanned 5+ times. So just
use that as your excuse for your Kodachrome.
