The selective and biased way in which all the major news networks (US, European, and Middle Eastern) are covering the US action in Iraq has far more impact than one lone photographer, who does a little photoshopping that, in my view, doesn't alter the message of the photo at all. I say, what the hell. Since all the networks (and especially Fox) are willfully sliding down the slippery slope at breakneck speed, let's make it a free for all. - --Jim - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rei Shinozuka" <shino@panix.com> To: <leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us> Sent: Wednesday, April 02, 2003 11:16 PM Subject: Re: [Leica] fired for photoshopping > i am entirely in agreement with bd. while i personally find it > questionable whether the intent was to make the composite image more > provacative, the precedent of permitting such fabricated images to > be published as news would be disasterous. > > the paper did the right thing, and furthermore went into some depth > to explain the incident. > > -rei > > > On Wed, Apr 02, 2003 at 05:38:12PM -0500, bdcolen wrote: > > What's to discuss - fake a photo, get fired.
