All of them are rare, the black chrome Canada being the rarest (only a couple of hundreds or less) followed by the 50 Jahre black chrome Canada (only 350 made). I remember that the black chrome version started being made in 1972 pushing their serial numbers in upper 129xxxx but most of them that I have seen were all 13xxxxx. This is to the best of my knowledge off the top of my head. However, the only clue Stephen provides (presumably because there was no info in the data supplied to him) is that "earlier" black M4s were enamel, while "later" ones were black chrome. 1,225,0XX dates from 1969. Later on the same page, he has black M4 Mots, which were all apparently enamel finish. The last numbers for these are 1,274,100. This would *suggest* that 1,225,0XX would be enamel, not chrome. Do you not have an opportunity to ask the seller what the finish is? As for value, you'll have to ask someone with the latest edition of the Leica pocket priceguide.
