My favorite Calif. places for photos are Joshua Tree National Monument (oops, it's now a National Park), and along the coast near Monterey and up north on the coast. Since I now live in Iowa I can't get out there too often to shoot those places, so I'm doing the best I can here. Go to Mojave at the North end, and you will find the Mojave Civil Airport and Flight Test Center. There you will find some super photo ops. I've spent a few winters up there working on flight test aircraft and commercial aircraft modifications.
