Subject: [Leica] Metering for backlighting

I agree with the description of the incident method of metering for
backlighting, including some compensation for ambient lighting. When I'm in
a hurry, I use an approximation method: meter 180 degrees away from the
subject, i.e., with the sun at your back, take a reading, and increase that
exposure by a factor of 4, e,g., 2 stops. Caveat: the scene that you are
metering does not deviate drastically from an average.
Among my favorite subjects for backlighting are Aspen in autumn and little
children with lots of blond hair.
