Yes, I tried one extensively and was totally convinced that it
is not for me.

Why is it that Nikon can make such great zoom lenses (except
for the first 43-86) and Leica cannot make a tri-focal of at least
equal quality?

Of course I have no experience with the Leica Reflex zoom lenses.
