Sonny- I took a photo for the regional newspaper of the Chancellor of the
University in my city. The building was just named after him. While in that
building recently there was a 24x30 print of my photo. The paper gets 1st
printing rights after that it is mine as well as the negs. When I discovered
they had obtained an 8x10 without my permission then copied it I immediately
called the University. They tried to brush me off-- I sent a bill for $1000
to get their attention. We settled on less money as well as an apology. It
turns out the university has a policy about copying and copyright of printed
material. Now it includes copying photos.

Cheers,

Kevin Argue
