Just one comment, Dan - You can take your "card" out of your digital
camera, stick it into a machine at your local camera store, look at the
images, pick the ones you want, make the general adjustments you want,
and push print - and get a set of prints for just about what you'd pay
for traditional 60 minute prints.

"Film is dead" for the commercial and professional photog who benefits
greatly from digital. Not every household is going to throw away their
family camera and buy a digital. It takes only an hour to get back
prints with film but 1-3 working days if I uploaded .jpg files to
process into prints. Again not every household has a computer.

"Darkroom is dying" for the colour enthusiast but will remain strong for
the B&W purist (at least for some time to come). I would not be
surprised that good B&W prints will be considered an even greater art
form and collectible with good values placed on them

"Digital is growing" is not surprising since it is tied closely with IT.
