Subject: [Leica] Stop-down aperature priority for Leica-R?

Could anyone please tell me if it's possible to use aperture-priority AE with 2-cam lenses on a Leica-R body?  Will holding down the DOF lever during the exposure give accurate meter readings?  And if so, does this also work for TTL flash (with an R-E)?  I could try this myself, but I just wanted to see if someone else has had any experience using 2-cam lenses.
