The $7.5K price tag for the RD is still a rumor---like the RD itself. And as for supporting its base, there are limits to how far back one can go. RD or not, with my resources if I were burning up to get into R digital, no question I would get a Canon 10D for $1500 and a Novoflex EOS-R adapter. But I'm ok for now--when I can stop laughing about the Contax ND. I just found one on-line in EX++ condition for $3495. Whew, it was $6999 not too long ago. It does not pay to be on the bleeding edge.
