Subject: [Leica] Low light, Noctilux and Color film

Richard,

There are some shots in color on my Noctilux page:
http://www.usip.com/rjr/noctilux02/page_01.htm

The fellow in the blue t-shirt was on shot on 100 speed slide film.

The rest of the color ones were Fuji NHG 800. As you can see, the NHG
has less grain than the 400 speed B&W film. I generally shot the 800 at
640.

I thought I would give up the Summicron and use the Noctilux as my
usual 50mm. That has not worked out. The Summicron-M is just so light
and fast focusing, that it remains my primary 50 if there is going to be
fast action. The Noctilux turns more to focus, which is good for
precision, but not so good for me when I need to switch focus quickly.
I would, however, never want to part with the Noctilux, as it gives
unique looking images.

The Noctilux, for me, benefits from the 1.25x magnifier on my .72
viewfinder.

Regards,
Bob Rose
