Believe me, it isn't *that* hard. :?) Here's a couple of tips - (1) Buy yourself a decent book on Photoshop. Not the (useless) "Wow! Amazing Plug-in Effects For Yuppie Graphic Designers!" books, but something meant for photographers. A few years back the book I got was "Real World Photoshop 3" by Blatner & Fraser: a goldmine of info about how to use curves along with the info palette to correct colour balance. Doubtless there is a more recent version of this book available now. (2) Make yourself a small (10cm x 15cm) test card which has a black, a white and a 18% grey targets on it. Carry this card with you and take photos of it under different light sources. Then, when you scan these images in you know exactly what the colours on the card are supposed to look like. By using curves you can get a v.accurate colour balance just making sure that the black, white and 18% grey are correct. That's it. *Much* easier than horsing around with Selenium or (ack!)
