Even a 1/4 stop difference can significantly separate the subject from the background. I recently saw in a catalogue, flat panel strobes, in both shoe mount and studio size. I'm wondering if those would be a better way of separating the subject from the background? Another method of lighting would be to over-light the background by a stop or more, placing those values in a high key, while leaving the front subjects in the midrange. The over-lighting usually bleeds over creating an interesting effect, but with predictability, if one has to repeat it. With Digital's heightened sensitivity, one wouldn't need more than a small unit, something along the lines of a Vivitrash 285, or a 200B Norman, etc. Slobodan Dimitrov - ---------- >From: Roy Zartarian <rzartarian@snet.net> >To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us >Subject: Re: [Leica] Digital Leica? >Date: Wed, Nov 19, 2003, 5:24 PM > > That particular characteristic of the digital camera struck home last > summer when I was looking through the online portfolio of photos of a > wedding I had attended.
