Well, yes and know....Objectively, of course...but subjectively, he
wasn't really in the middle of "the action," just walking along beside
the road....But that is indeed one of the classic quotes...

Robert Capa.  I use this example in all of the classes I teach.  He was 
later killed by a land mine.  He got too close.
