That used to happen with my LunaPro 3 (I say used to, because I went over to a Digisix and a Digiflash a few months ago). I usually just settled on setting it at 12. I know the lighting you're talking about EI 400, 1/60th @ f2.8 ... it's ALWAYS like that. I quit using a meter for that light. It's boring always getting the same reading. So if that'st the range giving you problems, take the Gossen. It's trustworthy away from that borderline and now you know what the borderline is, so you can just go with 1/60th @ 2.8.
